Historical Journey
The Faculty of Computer Science is one of 12 (twelve) faculties which are fostered by the Indonesian Muslim University under the Indonesian Muslim University Waqf Foundation (Yayasan Badan Wakaf UMI). It began with the idea of the leadership of the Indonesian Muslim University who see how rapidly the Information System has developed in the global world today. Indonesia in general and in particular the Eastern Indonesia is very much needed human resources in the field of Information Technology.
It was established on December 10, 1999, based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 486/DIKTI/KEP/1999. Since its inception, the Faculty of Computer Science had only fostered 1 (one) Study Program namely the Informatics Engineering Study Program. As a result of efforts to make improvements in its management, the study program has obtained accredited status from the National Accreditation Agency with Decree Number 007/BAN-PT/ Ak-VII/S1/III/2004, dated March 12, 2004, which then re -accreditation in 2007 based on Decree Number 016/BAN-PT/Ak-X/S1/III/2007, August 3, 2007.
In its development, in 2013 the Faculty of Computer Science made a workshop on curriculum changes that referred to the APTIKOM curriculum. At this workshop, the Faculty of Computer Science with the Informatics Engineering Study Program has three specialization/concentration fields, including Software Engineering, Computing Networks and the Informatics Industry.
